Aims

The aim of this project is to create a user-friendly tool to assess the level of physical fitness. This tool will serve as a feedback provider and it should be applied as an educational instrument in school Physical Education classes.

Partial aims are to:  1) find suitable motor tests based on analysis of currently used test batteries for health-related physical fitness (in Czech Republic and in foreign); 2) create three language translations of test batteries (English, Polish and Slovak); 3) create software platform; 4) implement the platform into the system INDARES.com and empirically ensure function and user-friendly environment of the system.

Realization

Active lifestyle significantly affects the body composition and overall physical fitness of individuals. Sufficient level of physical fitness is considered as an important factor in the prevention of non-communicable diseases caused by sedentary behavior in school aged children. To achieve or maintain lifelong optimal level of physical activity it is important to be motivated to achieve higher levels of physical fitness. The aim of this project is to create a user-friendly tool to assess the level of physical fitness. This tool will serve as a feedback provider and it should be applied as an educational instrument in school Physical Education classes. We expect that the new assessment tool will be integrated into the online system IDARES.com as the second separate module for physical fitness testing. The system is operated by the Center for Kinanthropology Research, FTK UP and is used for tracking the physical activity. Cooperation with our abroad partners will allows us to create three language versions of this platform. Multilingual version of the tool will facilitate current and future international comparative studies.
