Aims
The project intends to extend the number of incentives to support the operation of physical activity to prevent a number of current diseases (obesity, cardiovascular disease, etc.) and leading to a healthy lifestyle. The aim is to develop a special tool in the Internet environment, and through it the conditions for self-evaluation of physical fitness and immediate feedback on the level of physical fitness will be created, while anonymity is guaranteed when the measured data are evaluated. At the same time the created system will allow (with regard to anonymity) to monitor the status and long-term development of physical fitness among people using the platform created. Secondary, this will enable the subsequent development and updating of standards, which are used in tests report. After verification the created platform will be integrated as a separate module to simultaneously functioning online system INDARES.com (operated workplace Centre for Kinanthropology Research, FTK UP), compiled to monitor physical activity. In cooperation with the workplace in the U.S. (Valdosta State University, Georgia) and Poland (Academy of Physical Education, Katowice) are also created two foreign language versions which will pave the way for further international comparative studies.
Realization
The project can be divided into two parts: motoric (set of self-assessment tests, health related fitness) and software (a platform in the Internet environment and its implementation in the system INDARES.com).
Motoric part of the project includes: (1) finding a suitable motoric tests and their modifications used for self-assessment (2) create a suitable guide for the Internet environment and the needs of self-assessment, (3) standardization of selected and modified tests, (4) establish a system of evaluation of the measured results; (5) ensure multi-language versions of the manuals.
The software part includes: (1) a platform structure, (2) design, configuration of individual elements, (3) reduced version of the verification processing, (4) on the basis of results set the final version; (5) implementation into the system INDARES.com; (6) ensure multi-language versions of platforms.
Research method: testing. Validity of self-assessment tests will be identified as collateral validity.Criterion-test will be the self-assessment test which is based (measured lawfully trained examiner). To collect information about (1) user-friendliness of the instructional video and manuals (2) friendliness of a platform in the Internet environment, we use survey. Collected data will be used to build and verification (validity and reliability) self-assessment tests on the physical fitness and assess (determine) basic norms in different population samples. The platform will guarantee long-term monitoring of the development of physical fitness and its multi-language versions to international comparative research. Self-assessment and immediate feedback provides incentives for the motivation to regular physical activity.
