Duration of the project

2015–2017

Aims

The main aim of the project is to verify the new monitoring techniques for physical activity.

Realization

Research on physical activity and physically active lifestyle of the population is currently characterized by significant changes in the development of monitoring techniques and software support. Research techniques and software developed at Faculty of Physical Culture require full compatibility with cooperating institutions abroad (especially in the context of an international team IPEN) and also a methodological and technical readiness to enter into other international research projects. Research on physical activity in natural/field settings is also very demanding in terms of specific population groups (the population of children up to the senior population), the diversity of environments (built, school, leisure, sports, etc.), socio-economic, health and other aspects. Verification of new research techniques as well as use of the most optimal techniques is therefore crucial. As for publication requirements, the high level of technological equipment for monitoring
physical activity is equally important. The research results will be beneficial for the majority of research studies using monitoring of physical activity or inactivity at the Faculty of Physical Culture. The improvement of Indares system will be beneficial for the majority of collaborating institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad. Solution of existing, newly acquired, and submitted research grants is also based on the assumption that better software processing of research results, new research techniques in the system Indares, and gradually upgraded new research monitoring techniques will be ensured. The project will also contribute to strengthening very good international position of our institution in the area of physical activity research.
